Little Moreton Hall is an iconic, timber framed Tudor Manor House located in Cheshire, that was originally constructed over 500 years ago. Surrounded by a moat and scenic gardens, this Grade I listed heritage building is one of the National Trust’s most unique and beloved properties, with both the building and the grounds being used for a variety of activities, including theatre performances.
The Fire Surgery was employed by (and to work alongside) the National Trust to help review and develop the site’s emergency evacuation plan, with particular attention being paid to the single means of access to/egress from the site over the moat via an historic sandstone bridge. Using fire engineering to assess travel distances and the potential evacuation times of people from the site, a bespoke solution and practical emergency plan has been developed and implemented, cognisant of the modern standards and expectations imposed under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
