Nevill Holt sits on the crest of a hill above the Welland Valley, a historic settlement centred around the Hall and Church of St Mary. The place has grown organically since the thirteenth century. Nevill Holt Theatre, was built in the courtyard of a grade 1 listed stables building. A temporary opera festival was introduced to Nevill Holt in the early 2000s in the courtyard of the stables. This project was a permanent theatre building in the same location.
An innovative fire strategy was developed using an ASET>RSET study from smoke control, heat radiation and escape calculations to demonstrate an open stage with open means of escape stairs.
