The Fire Surgery was commissioned by Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios to provide fire engineering design support to the new Charter School, East Dulwich project in East Dulwich, London SE22. The new Charter School East Dulwich is built on the site of the previous East Dulwich Hospital.
The Charter School East Dulwich will ultimately provide education for 1680 local students from 11-18 years.
Conceived as a campus of individual buildings the two buildings in the completed first phase of this major regeneration project opened in early 2019. A third new building, remaining landscaping and refurbishment of the ‘Chateau’ - the retained chapel of former 19th century St Saviour’s Union infirmary, forms part of the Phase 2 works.
