The International Quarter London (IQL) by Lendlease and London Continental Railways (LCR) is a vast commercial, retail and office space project, amounting to a total contract value of £2.4bn.
The pavilion and International Square are key pieces of public realm which will set the tone for the wider International Quarter public realm strategy as well as defining the character of this important open space. The two-storey IQL Pavilion is set to be the centrepiece of the entire development and will act as the main thoroughfare to link the IQL's new homes, offices and retail outlets once complete. The development is located between the Olympic Park and Westfield, and when complete, the 10,000 sq. ft. pavilion will accommodate restaurants across the ground and first floors and a rooftop terrace and bar will provide views across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park towards the London skyline. Furthermore, they will be among the first public interfacing aspects of the development and need to clearly articulate the vision for The International Quarter. Whilst they are the being delivered early in The International Quarter programme, they need to respect the wider overarching public realm strategy. The design is being undertaken by ACME architects and is to be a CLT structure.
