The Fire Surgery was commissioned by St Hilda’s College to provide Fire Engineering support to the proposed Boundary Building and Pavilion development at an existing site in Oxford.
On the site of the current St Hilda’s College, Cowley Place, Oxford, two new buildings will be built: The Boundary Building and The Pavilion. The Boundary Building will house St Hilda’s College staff offices and student accommodation. The Pavilion will be a single storey event space located next to the River Cherwell. The Boundary Building development aims to provide staff offices and their amenities and student bedrooms, which will be rented to students during term time and let as bed and breakfast accommodation in the summer months.
Gort Scott designed the new £10m+ front-of-house development for St Hlida’s Oxford riverside site. The project will feature a slender tower, rooftop gardens with wild-flower planting, and a riverside pavilion. It will redefine the College estate and realise the potential of its exceptional riverside site.
The project was granted planning permission in early 2018 and will form the centrepiece of St Hilda’s 125th anniversary celebration.
