The Arts Council England awarded the Southbank Centre a £16.7 million grant to fund the essential repair and maintenance of the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and Haywood Gallery, as part of the £24 million project. The Fire Surgery was commissioned to provide fire engineering support which included a remodelled QEH Foyer, reconfigured smoke control system in the QEH Auditorium and opening up of other back of house ancillary spaces.
