Waterside Places was granted permission for the regeneration scheme which includes the creation of a high-quality public realm, with communal courtyards that are breathing life back into the water’s edge. Establishing outdoor space for residents and businesses alike is key to the successful regeneration of the area and green elements of the scheme include private roof terraces, gardens and balconies. The scheme is a multi-award winning project which includes the 2019 RIBA National Award.
The masterplan is divided into 3 phases and The Fire Surgery was involved in designing the fire strategy for Phases 1 and 2 which involves a number of residential towers and townhouses built over a basement car park. The Fire Surgery undertook CFD modelling of the car park and long corridors during the design stage of Phase 2 to reduce Building Control approvals risk.
